2007 Manitoba Mustangs

Thanks to all players who attended our Christmas Evaluation and Selection camp over the winter break! The roster has now officially been formed for the upcoming 2016 season.

The 2007 Manitoba Mustangs are excited to announce that they will be holding their Christmas Evaluation & Selection Camp from December 27 - 30, 2015 at the Southdale Community Centre.

The following are our on ice sessions;

- December 27, 2:45 - 3:45pm.

- December 28, 4:00 - 5:00pm

- December 29, 3:00 - 4:00pm

- December 30, 3:00 - 515pm (Black and Red Game) Presented by BOSTON PIZZA.

* Registration is $145.00 cash per player.

Each player will receive the following;

- 5 hours of ice time.

- (On last day) A three 20 minute stop time period game, w/referees and a score keeper.

- Souvenir camp jersey, customized w/each players last name on it.

- Player of the game awards (Red and Black Game)

- Boston Pizza Achievement Certificates and free kids meal.

At the conclusion of the camp, players will be assigned to the following teams;

A) Mustangs

B) Colts

C) Stallions (if #'s are warranted)

In Spring 2015, the 2007 Mustangs completed arguably one of the most successful seasons in team history, winning 4 Gold and 2 Silver Medals, playing in 6 Spring AAA Tournaments.

We are comitted to increased player development and will target this continued success in the Spring of 2016.

After a very successful 2015 season, it's hard to believe we find ourselves preparing for the upcoming 2016 season already! Our player identification skates and skills sessions will be starting in December 2015. The 2007 Mustangs will continue our successful development programs with those players selected for the 2016 roster. If a player wishes to participate as a new prospect, please contact us to be added to our mailers. Details will be forthcoming as they become available.  

The Mustangs took to their second road trip of the season at an awesome tournament in Minneapolis. Once again, the Mustangs battled their way to the Championship game where they faced Miracle Gold in a high energy, fast paced final. Jett had a net busting 5 goals in the game and was awarded with tournament MVP! Congrats to the boys on finishing the 2015 spring season with the gold around their necks! What a season it has been for this team with 5 Championship Game appearances where they managed to win 3 Championships!!!

In a fun tournament, the Mustangs dominated in the round robin and semi final rounds going undefeated! They squared off against a beefed up 2007 Manitoba Hawks team that had an great game and the Mustangs were beat in what can be described as an emotional, hard fought game. Congrats to the Hawks on winning Gold!

The 07 Manitoba Mustangs captured their second tournament chamionship for the 2015 season! Powering their way through a grueling round robin with a 3-1 record, they faced the Parkland Prospects in an exciting semi-final game where they were victorious and secured their spot in the finals vs their Manitoba rivals the 2007 MB Xtreme.

The final matchup was a battle of endurance between the two hard working teams. The Mustangs found themselves down by 2 points early in the third period, but battled back to gain a single point advantage and held off an offensive onslaught by the Xtreme in the final minutes of the game!

The Mustangs played in their usual hardworking style to achieve a 3-1 round robin record, and fell to the 2006 Colts in an exciting division final. Congrats to both teams on a great tournament. Next, the Mustangs take to the road for the Regina AAA Spring Classic, where they will face some new teams as well as many of their Winnipeg rivals.

Our 2007 Manitoba Mustangs captured the Gold Medal in a thrilling 8-7 overtime victory over the 2007 Manitoba Team Xtreme! The Mustangs determination and intensity were huge factors in securing the win over a very talented opponent. The Mustangs "Team First" approach was evident from the first puck drop until the sudden death overtime goal. Great Job Boys!!

The 2015 Manitoba Mustangs Roster has been finalized and the team is set to begin the practice schedule at the end of March. Tournaments will include Mustangs Classic, North American Hockey Classic, USA International Hockey Cup and more!

Thanks to everyone involved in the player selection camp and we are looking forward to a great season ahead. Best of luck to our affiliated team the 2007 Colts and our development team the 2007 Stallions!

The 2007 Manitoba Mustangs took to the road for the first international tournament of their young carrers, the North American Pepsi Cup in Fargo ND!!!

The team battled teams 1 year their senior and came away with a 2-1 win record in B side pool play. This record earned them a semi-final playoff game against the undefeated 2006 Duluth Bulldogs, coached by Nashville Predators forward and former Stanley Cup champion Matt Cullen. The Bulldogs would go on to take the 2006/07 division championship.

The Mustangs showcased their speed and tenacity while gaining valuable playing experience against very good teams. The parents showcased their ability to party hard on the road!!! A great time was had by all!
